Frequently Asked Questions

What's in the box?

Each farm share includes a seasonal variety of 7-9 items grown on our farm. We delight in providing popular vegetable staples and well as more unusual seasonal items. In general, you'll receive a mix of salad greens, cooking greens, roots, herbs, and seasonal items like snap peas, broccoli, tomatoes, cucumber, and winter squash. In season and when possible we include sweet fruits like strawberries and melon.

Will you help me figure out how to use the produce?

Membership in our farm share includes a subscription to Cook With What You Have, a comprehensive online index of recipes that is designed specifically for members of farm shares and CSAs. Katherine, who runs the site, has more creative ideas for how to use your produce than we could imagine! We will also give our own suggestions in a weekly email that describes the box contents.

What's the committment?

Members who pay for the whole 30-week season up front receive a discount. We greatly appreciate this up-front commitment to our farm. You can also use auto-billing to pay as you go for the whole 30 weeks.

You can also sign up for our 10-week spring, summer, and fall seasons independently.

Are you organic?

We've been using only organic production methods since we started the farm in 2014. In addition, we use holistic and ecological principles to guide our decisions and our relationship with our land and soil. Although we've started the organic certification process, we've ended up using our energy to improve our farm in other ways, trusting that our members and customers can reach out to us for information on our practices.

Can I order add-ons on a one-time basis?

Yes! Each week of your share, you can choose to include any of our available add-ons, plus occasional rotating seasonal items like extra strawberries, tomatoes for canning, basil for pesto, and more.

What if I go on vacation?

As long as you put your box on hold by the weekly deadline, we will issue a credit that you can use toward a future share purchase or add-ons. If you are a bi-weekly member, you can choose to move a single delivery to one of your off-weeks to accommodate your vacation.

What if I don't like a certain vegetable?

It's difficult for us to make substitutions to your farm share, especially for broad categories like nightshades or alliums. If you have a aversion to a specific vegetable, we first suggest that you try preparing it in a new way, or that you share with a friend or neighbor. If you have an item that you'd really rather never receive, you can send us a note and we'll accommodate when possible.
